Fun in Pink
We were dancing in the grey,
where words and intentions play,
Push and pull and spin around,
But never touch the ground,
It disintegrates in a twist of fate,
Black carpark rendezvous,
Thumping drums and urgent hues,
We lit the sparks white hot,
Air crackled and popped,
As we were fumbling for skin in the dark,
Stumbling over words between hearts,
When lights are low, truths can glow like ghouls,
The fleeting calm, in the grasping arms of fools
We were having fun in pink,
Lips and hips in sync,
Lusty back seat bus kids,
Never the winning bid,
I’m ready to burst head and heart first,
For so long you had me green,
Maybe that’s what you need,
But can’t I tempt you while you’re here,
To feel sincere,
While we fumble for skin in the dark,
Stumbling over words between hearts,
When lights are low truths can glow like ghouls,
The fleeting calm, in the grasping arms of fools
But the undercurrent’s always blue,
The time is past to choose,
Once my flesh is enjoyed,
You’ll take the peace and leave me with noise,
